O Divine Spirit, in Whom we live and move and have our being, 
we the people of Earth raise our voices in prayer for a new vision to guide the leaders 
and citizens of this world, 
that a measure of wisdom and self-restraint may descend upon those who lead Earth's children. 
We hold before ourselves the vision of a better world, where leaders treat their people 
with dignity and seek not
personal power but opportunities to serve and improve the quality of life for all humanity. 
With one mind and one heart, 
we unite in prayer with our brothers and sisters around the planet, 
as we together declare from our many cultures, language groups and faiths: 
Let those who study war lay down their weapons, sit down together, 
harbor no malice, work things out like adults.
 And may the Divine Spirit, by whatever Name called, 
descend upon us and rise within us.  
Every moment of every day, 
the sun is rising somewhere. 
Let that be the symbol of our oneness. 
We shall welcome the sunrise of each new day as one global family, 
when humankind heeds the call of prophets, 
divine messengers and teachers of all faiths, 
and considers war no more. 
This is our prayer for unity at sunrise.
The light of God surrounds us,
The love of God enfolds us,
The power of God protects us,
And the presence of God watches over us;
Wherever we are, God is.
Amen.
