Unity is a worldwide Christian organization offering a practical positive approach to daily living. Although Christian, we embrace other world religions, and philosophies that reveal Truth for humanity. We know that Truth is universal and not limited to one religion or belief system.
Millions of people have been introduced to Unity through peridocals such as DAILY WORD and UNITY MAGAZINE, published at Unity World Headquarters in Lee's Summit, Missouri. Millions others have come to know Unity and receive prayer help through Silent Unity, which has maintained a-round-the-clock vigiliance of prayer for more than 100 years via a toll free number (800-669-7729) or the website.
Because of the similiarity in names, Unity has on occasion been confused with Unitarianism or even the Unification Church. However there is no connection between Unity and these organizations. There is currently an organization that uses the name Unity, without legal permission. This is not affiliated with Unity School of Christianity or the Association of Unity Churches.
Unity proclaims the divinity of Jesus, but goes further and assures that you, too, are a child of God and therefore divine in nature. We believe that thoughts are creative. Therefore, life is lived from the inside out thought by thought and action by action. Prayer is our foundational tool. We know that prayer and meditation transforms us and thus changes lives. We practice, practice, practice. Without daily spiritual practice, Truth principles are only intellectual concepts. We also practice remembering everyone else is practicing and therefore forgiveness is essential.
Basic Unity Principles
- God is absolute good, everywhere present. ("Surely God is in thee and there is none else; there is no other God" Is. 45:14)
- Each person has a spark of divinity, the Christ Spirit within. Therefore, our very essence is of God, and having God's essence we are inherently good. ("The kingdom of God is within you." Jn.17:21)
- Each of us creates our own experience by the activity of our thinking. Everything in the manifest realm has its beginning in thought. ("As we thinketh in our hearts, so are we" Pr. 23:7)
- Prayer heightens our awareness of God in our mind and hearts and therefore brings forth our highest good. ("Be still and know that I am God" Ps. 46:10)
- Knowing and understanding the laws of life, called Truth, is not enough. Each person must live the truth they know in their daily lives. Practice, Practice, Practice! ("The human mind plans the way, but the Lord directs the steps."Pr 16:9)
There are many beliefs regarding God, Jesus, other awakened masters, religion, and spirituality. We honor that there are differences in these beliefs. We have found more similarities than differences in these beliefs, primarily the idea of treating others as we want to be treated. Take what has meaning to you and leave the rest.

Our foundational statement is "There is only One Presence and One Power, God the Good omnipotent". We do not believe in a power that is greater than God's. We know that there is evil and negativity in the world, but ascribe these to humankind's ignorance and wrong use of God's gifts in daily living.
